Spring Raffle (2024) Terms and Conditions

Our 2024 Spring Raffle rules are detailed below.

The Stroke Association is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number: 4703.

Promoter: Stroke Association, Stroke Association House, 240 City Road, London, SC1V 2PR ("We", "Our"). Registered Charity Numbers: England and Wales (211015) and Scotland (SC037789).

Responsible Person: Juliet Bouverie, CEO, Stroke Association House, 240 City Road, London, SC1V 2PR.

Our Lottery and Raffles are managed on Our behalf by Sterling Management Centre Limited ("Lottery Manager"), Furness Gate, Furness Business Park, Barrow-in Furness, Cumbria LA14 2PE. Sterling Management Centre Limited is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number: 3137.

All proceeds of the Raffle will go to the Stroke Association.

Participation in the raffle costs £1 per ticket and a maximum of 50 tickets per person may be purchased.

No tickets are to be sold to or by any person in a street.

By entering the Raffle you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Any entries not complying with these terms and conditions will not be valid. The terms and conditions may be amended from time to time and We will notify you of any significant changes via the website.

To enter the Raffle you must be aged 18 or over, and live in Great Britain. Residents from Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and The Channel Islands are excluded from entering as they are governed by different gambling laws. We reserve the right to request proof of identity and age. Any persons who has entered the lottery and who is found to be under 18 years old will automatically forfeit any prize won and their stakes will be returned to them.

The Raffle is subject to the Laws of England and Wales.

We reserve the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Raffle in whole or in part in our sole discretion and will not be liable for:

  • Raffle entries, or communications which are lost, stolen or delayed in the post, damaged or illegible, or which have insufficient postage (proof of posting is not proof of receipt);
  • any late bank payments;
  • Our failure or inability to contact you and/or award any prize due to any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact or bank details you have provided or your failure to update these if they change;
  • loss or damage incurred by you in connection with your participation in the Raffle or your use of any prize;
  • any interruptions or errors on or to the Websites or technical hardware or software errors or failures or lost, faulty or unavailable network connections; or
  • any failure or delay beyond Our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit Our liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud or for any other matter for which liability may not be limited by law.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and will handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.

The Raffle is open to Our employees except those involved directly with the running of the Raffle. The Raffle is not open to the employees of the Lottery Manager or any other third party involved in the running of the Raffle.

We are committed to promoting socially responsible gambling. If you or a family member feel that you are experiencing problems with gambling you can seek advice and support from BeGambleAware by calling the National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133. We understand that things go wrong sometimes, you can provide feedback or complain using Our Complaints Policy. In the event of a complaint or dispute relating to the Raffle that cannot be resolved to your satisfaction using the complaints procedure, you can request that the matter be referred to the Independent Betting Adjudication Service, which provides Alternative Dispute Resolution services to help resolve such complaints at no cost to you.

Participation in the Raffle can be made by returning ticket stubs in the post with appropriate payment (cheque payable to the Stroke Association or debit card details) or through this website with payment by debit card* where you will be advised of new ticket numbers. Please return any unsold tickets. No acknowledgements will be issued.

* Please note that due to changes in UK gambling legislation, we can no longer accept credit card payments for online ticket orders

All tickets received with full payment by the closing date will be entered into the draw.

Any online entries received after the closing date will miss entry into the draw and therefore will be gratefully accepted as a donation to The Stroke Association.

73 chances will be drawn randomly:

  1. The first ticket chance drawn will win £5,000.
  2. The second ticket chance drawn will receive £1,000.
  3. The third ticket chance drawn will receive £500.
  4. The next 20 ticket chances drawn will receive £25.
  5. The next 80 ticket chances drawn will receive £10.

Prizes will be distributed to winners within 60 days of this draw.

The result of the raffle draw is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Winners will be notified by post, email, or telephone no later than two weeks after the draw date. Prizes are not transferable and will only be paid to the winners.

Please keep the ticket or allocated number as proof of purchase.

Where The Stroke Association is unable to contact a prize-winner so that a prize remains unclaimed for six months following the Stroke Association’s first attempt to notify the prize-winner, the Stroke Association may apply the prize as it sees fit, including re-offering the prize in future raffles.

Requests for additional raffle tickets, requests to be removed from future raffle mailings, or any concerns about this raffle should be addressed to:

In the event of an error, howsoever caused, whether a printing error or otherwise and whether obvious or otherwise, which affects the raffle in any way, the organisers reserve the right to administer the raffle as though the error had not occurred. Where the organisers deem it appropriate and/or feasible the Stroke Association will notify entrants of the error.

If you win a prize from Our Raffle, We will publish the winning ticket numbers, your title, surname and residing town alongside other winners on Our website. If you do not want your details to appear on our winners list, then please notify us by calling the raffle hotline on 0330 678 3059 or email strokeraffle@thecharityraffle.co.uk

Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in the disqualification of the entry. Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.Please gamble responsibly www.gambleaware.co.uk

Information about prizes and proceeds:

During the 12 months ending 30 September 2022, 67p from every £1 ticket spent in our raffles went to help support the vital work of the Stroke Association. 11p was given away in prizes and 23p was spent on running the draw. All winners are randomly selected, with the first ticket number selected receiving the first prize, the second ticket number selected winning the second prize and so on. In our Summer Raffle, drawn on 8 September 2022, there was a 1 in 984 chance of winning a prize.
